The Creator Of Modern Meditation

The Western incarnation of mindful meditation was introduced by Jon Kabat-Zinn. He is the professor of “Medicine Emeritus” at the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. You can easily see from his high level positions that he is at the forefront of the modern meditation movement. The way he discovered meditation was from a Zen missionary speaker, when Dr. Kabat-Zinn was himself a student at MIT, getting a PHD in molecular biology.

If you have a digital guided meditation piece to listen to on your smartphone or tablet with some headphones, people enjoy this as well. Or you can just be at one with your own thoughts in deep or light meditation. It’s all up to you how you use your time while you breathe in the beneficial salt air during your treatment time. You might find that mindful meditation while in the salt rooms gives you a whole new outlook on wellness.
