Salt Therapy Can Help Relieve Symptoms of Cystic Fibrosis in a Safe and Relaxing Environment

Thousands of Americans suffer from this disease, which has no cure. The disease is managed by treating the symptoms. If you or someone you love has cystic fibrosis, the beneficial effects of salt therapy are a good option. The salt room sessions will open the respiratory tracts and aid breathing. Cleansing of nasal passages and bronchial tubes takes place naturally as the dry salt aerosol moves through the nose, throat and lungs. Coughing is soothed away and the lungs feel clear.

Clogged, even painful sinuses are sometimes a condition found in cystic fibrosis sufferers. The salt rooms facilitate the draining of the sinuses, relieving pressure. The longevity of the effects of the treatments varies by individual but typically the sessions are needed once every week to every three weeks to prevent symptoms from returning.

The excessive mucous production found in cystic fibrosis patients is what leads to frequent chest infections and shortness of breath. The clearing away of mucous as a result of a salt therapy session means fewer infections. This is an ideal way to enhance or supplement traditional treatment and medicines. But of course, you should try it to see if it’s right for you.

Jayson wrote us shortly after his first visit to tell us how much it helped him…

“I just wanted to write and tell you how much better I felt after a session in the salt suite. It really helped me clear up my lungs and I felt like I had more energy. I do a salt water nebulizer treatment for my Cystic Fibrosis, but I felt the dry salt get much further into my lungs.I would like to visit at least 2 or 3 times a week”
